329863 - clean up tinderbox ftp directories for firefox

The tinderbox-builds directories are a mess.

Can someone with permissions (apparently I don't have enough) clean out any directory or build that is not current? There are lots of old directories and old builds that are just cluttering it up and making it difficult to find the latest builds. thanks.

Okay, there are a couple of problems going on here. 

First of all, we have both tinderbox and tinderbox-builds directories. The tinderbox/ directory should probably go away, but this will require build team assistance. 

I blew away a few of the obviously dead directories, but I'm a bit worried about breaking things here. Can we make a list of the directories we'd like to go away? I'd be happy to delete whatever needs to go.

Those directories only should contain the latest build of every tinderbox.

Cleaning out (removing) all directories would just make us have the builds not available for a less than day (builds are uploaded at the end of every cycle, not just release cycles), and the tinderboxen would just recreate the directories they need and place their newest build in there.

So I think you should just wipe out all those directories (tinderbox-builds/ and tinderbox/ ones) and let the tinderboxen recreate those that are still active.

Additionally, it might be a good idea to do a patch to tinderbox that wipes out all exisiting builds in its directory before uploading new ones, so that a version change doesn't leave old builds behind.

As a sidenote (though this bug is about the firefox/ dir), I cleaned up the SeaMonkey tinderbox-builds/ dir and adjusted my tinderboxen to place their intermediate builds in that dir as well (the nightlies still go into nightly/ of course).

I've cleaned out $app/tinderbox-builds for Firefox, Thunderbird and XULRunner.

Leaving open and marking dependent on 342972 for a long-term way to maintain this.

Since we moved to buildbot + cron'd cleanup job these directories are much more manage-able. RESOLVED CLOSE_ENOUGH_TO_FIXED-TINDERBOX_CLIENT_DIES_SOON.
