330800 - Bookmarks completed deleted randomly, now cannot create new bookmarks. Also re-sizes improperly and Flash plugin won't install

During a web session, Firefox crashed and when I re-opened it, all my bookmarks had been deleted permanently! Not only this, but I cannot create new bookmarks. Either with the menu or with the keyboard command. The window appears asking where to install the bookmark, but nothing happens at all. 
   The Flash/Shockwave pugin will not install, it just continues to 
   Also, the window opens in a half-screen configuration every time I open it, no matter how I resize it.
   I have re-installed four times. Problems persist.

There's a set of bookmarks in your profile.
Deleting the localstore.rdf file in your profile will probably restore the add bookmarks function.
