User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.7.11) Gecko/20050729 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.7.11) Gecko/20050729 I want to stop wasting my time in this project. Please remove my account, because I haven't found a way to do that myself. The reasons are in bug 332556. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
I don't think that's possible (especially if you have already filed bug and wrote comments). But you can disable all bugmail if you want under https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email
The instructions say that if you are abusive toward Firefox, your account can be disabled, so deactivation (if not deletion) is possible. Even if you have never submitted a bug, there is no button or page to get your account disabled. Ranting and raving is your only option. (I realize disable/deletion is probably a symbolic gesture on both our parts. I am disgusted with a process that demands one take hours downloading to verify something is presently a problem and then the idea is shot down within minutes, no explanation about why it was rejected unless you press for one. It's quite a club you have here.)
(In reply to comment #2) You've submitted and commented only in bug 333066 and it seems to me that in that bug it was explained quite well why it was 'shot down'.
You didn't read it very carefully, nor did the first commenter. Finally someone pointed to a related thing on the url I had pointed to in the original bug. That is, no one was really paying attention until I insisted on their looking at the url I asked them to, what I was seeing. The priority was in dismissing issues asap, feeling like hot-shots, no doubt. Further, your comment does not address this issue. I thought of a significant reason for adding the account deletion (or deactivation, which we know is possible when someone is abusive toward Firefox). Mozilla doubtless touts to the press how many people are on the system. If in fact a significant percentage wants out, that is a misleading number. Why prevent people from getting out? (It's buggy that when I click "bug list" I get nothing. Yet a cabal member easily sees my bug list. I suppose I could submit that as a bug but it'd just get shot down asap.)
(Disregard the "bug list" comment. A search I apparently set up which is currently returning nothing.)
(In reply to comment #4) > Further, your comment does not address this issue. Sorry, it was indeed an unrelated comment. My apologies. I don't think there is a particular reason why it is not possible. There is not just nobody who has stepped up and tried to fix this.
> Mozilla doubtless touts to the press how many people are on the > system. If in fact a significant percentage wants out, that is a misleading > number. Actually we don't tout that to the press. We do, however, sometimes publicize the number of active Bugzilla contributors. But it's unlikely that a significant percentage of those users want out.
Deleting accounts is impossible (especially if that user has already done something with his/her account). Disabling accounts is possible. Any of the bmo admins can easily disable an account.
OMGS seems to have gone, anyway. :-( We can't delete his account. Gerv
