When the master password prompt is displayed, the password *must* be entered (or cancelled) before the user can do anything else with Firefox. This is bad for several reasons. The first is that Firefox is a tabbed browser - if a password is needed for one tab, why should that stop the user browsing in other tabs? Secondly the user may want to use some other function of firefox (esp. one provided by an extension), but they cannot until the password is entered.
Is there a reason that this prompt cannot be deselected or minimized? It could be restored when a user selects a tab that is waiting to fill in a login.
This is related to bug 334580 (password prompt stops websites downloading)
Reproducible: Always
