User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3
Same results for any other extension, the URL specified is just the one I happen to be trying.
When I poke the Install Now link on this page, an "error bar" appears which says:
"Software installation is disabled. Click Edit Options... to enable it and try again."
And there is an Edit Options button on the right. So I poke it, and I get the standard Tools->Options... box. Nothing seems to be about disabling the installation of options. Help says that if Javascript is enabled, I will be able to install extensions. I look again, Java and Javascript are enabled. I looked more through the Options. I fiddled with the only thing that looked related which was the "Warn me when web sites try to install extiosions" option. No apparent effect.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to the URL
2.Poke Install Now link a ways down the page
Actual Results:
(If you have the right thing disabled) get the complaint in the "error bar"
Expected Results:
It should have installed the Extension
Type about:config in your location bar, then find xpinstall.enabled and toggle it to "true"
Note that this is in the release notes - http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/releases/1.5.0.3.html
