Currently my link on AMO is the following: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/346/author/. This is obviously to be interpreted as "there is a Firefox extension with ID 346 and that's its author's page". Only that there isn't such extension and that's not an extension ID. And there is really no relation to Firefox here. The obvious way to rewrite this URL is https://addons.mozilla.org/author/346/ - should be fixed IMO.
could just link to author.php?id=346
We are talking about human-readable URLs here, right?

Remora has .../user/346 as its user info page URL, which can't be confused with an addon URL anymore.
