would be very helpfull, to have shared folders, i.e. mail folders, which one could share with other users at the same time, such that both can view the same mails. This would be very usefull in a network, where many users need to share mail information.
The user should be able to define a folder as "shared", i.e. other users shoud be able to use that folder too. The folder should be stored outside of the profile, such that the shared mail is seperated from the users data.
Reproducible: Always

Thunderbird isn't really the solution for this as a pure client application. Have you thought of using Public folders or simply sharing IMAP accounts?

Yeah, I think the correct solution here is to use imap shared/public folders, which is already supported by thunderbird. ->Wontfix?
On a side note, I wouldn't be supprised if you'd get it (=an account, not just a folder) at least semi-working on pop by just messing around with the storage location (and making that the same for all users).

->WONTFIX, doesn't make sense to use pop for your use case. Use IMAP instead.
