User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 If I have my mails grouped by date, it is no problem deleting opened mails. Just the message window of the last mail - if it's the last one left in the "day group" - doesn't collapse after pressing the delete button in the message window. I have to close the message window "by hand" (klicking the X), mark the mail in the mail-list and hit delete on the keyboard. A similar behaviour with the discribed "last mail of a day" happens with the junk filter. The Mail is marked as Junk but is not removed from the mail list. I have to remove it by marking it and deleting it via keyboard. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Group by date 2. Open message 3. Delete all mails in a group (today, yesterday, ...) - one by one with the delete button in the message window Actual Results: Message window of the last mail of a group doesn't collapse and is not deleted in mail list. Expected Results: The message window of the last mail should collapse like the others before and the mail should disappear form the mail list. I didn't check that with other groups, yet. This bug appears at least in WinXP SP2 and Win2000 SP4 with the latest security-patches.

Note that if you delete the last message in a group other than Today, the window doesn't advance to the next message (first in the next group); nor does it then respond to 'F' and 'B' shortcuts. Reproduced with TB 2a1-0518.

(In reply to bambam from comment #0) > Actual Results: > Message window of the last mail of a group doesn't collapse and is not > deleted in mail list. With the option of displaying messages in their own window, I confirm the window does not close when deleting the last mail, but it does get removed from the list. You can try it by *starting* from the last (bottom) mail. Detailed first step for future testers: View | Sort by | Grouped By Sort Thunderbird 52.0.1 (32-bit) Windows 7 64-bit
