User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.2) Gecko/20060308 Thunderbird/1.5.0.2 I have changed my messengerWindow.ico to be able to easily distinguish thunderbird's main window (which displays folders and messages for me, i have disabled the message pane) from the message windows. Now when I restart thunderbird, the main window also gets this icon. I have tried adding icons like default.ico, mainwindow.ico, main-window.ico, mozilla-thunderbird.ico to the chrome\icons\default directory but to no avail. Only work-around I have found is to start thunderbird via a batch: delete messengerWindow.ico, start thunderbird and restore messengerWindow.ico. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Change messengerWindow.ico 2. Start thunderbird Actual Results: Main window is changed too Expected Results: Only messenger (message) window should be changed

The messengerWindow.ico is used for the main messengerWindow, but also for the messageWindow (which also has id="messengerWindow") I'd like to be able to supply a messageWindow.ico to have different icons for the message windows, just as the msgcomposeWindow has a different icon. This would make it easier to distinguish all the windows tabs in the taskbar. (I've changed the subject of this bug, and changed it to enhancement, to better reflect what I meant when filing the bug...)

This is the same as the slightly older bug 340003 but has the same issue and that bug is slightly older. Therefore marking as duplicate of that bug.
