Microsummaries cause Firefox to repeatedly retrieve a webpage without me visiting it. I think it would be sensible and definately useful for there to be some kind of visual indication that a bookmark had this feature. Immediately springing to mind is some kind of overlay over the bookmark's icon, akin to Windows' shortcut icon but different.
Microsummaries update every half hour, like live bookmarks. Shouldn't the notification be that you can see the title change in the Bookmarks Toolbar?
That only works if you happen to be watching when the title changed, or if you have a very good memory. And of course some microsummaries may not even change the title in a half hour period. I don't want to know that a title has changed, or even that Firefox is currently updating a microsummary, I want some kind of continuous indication that a bookmark is displaying a summary and that its content will change over time in response to Firefox downloading webpages automatically.
In other words, it sounds like you want to be able to distinguish live bookmarks from static ones. That seems like a reasonable request to me, although I don't think we'll be able to do it for Firefox 2, and I can see potential conflicts between this behavior and other UI goals, like simplicity. cc:ing beltzner for his thoughts.

Maybe a possibility for this is like a little overlay at the bottom right of the bookmark's icon or something, like Windows does with shortcuts.
