User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1a3) Gecko/20060707 BonEcho/2.0a3
Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2006-07-08-04-trunk/

This isn't just about the trunk build listed above, but basically all recent 3.0 builds: When entering a https page, either through a link or by typing https:// in the url bar, the browser immediately crashes, without even calling the feedback tool (which is installed). Instead you get a standard "illegal access" message. I can't really give you any more detail right now, because frankly, I have no idea what you need, but this is my basic configuration:

WindowsXP SP2 with all current updates
AthlonXP64
Everything working fine for 2.x builds
Clean profile directory

If I can provide any more info that will help you locate this bug, just tell me!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch Mindfield
2.Enter "https://" in location bar
3.Crash

Actual Results:
A standard illegal access crash, with the feedback tool not launching

Expected Results:
opening the page
Here's what Windows has to report about this:
AppName: firefox.exe AppVer: 1.9.20060.60904 ModName: msvcr80.dll
ModVer: 8.0.50727.42 Offset: 000176d9
Could you install Talkback and get a Talkback ID for the crash? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback
Keywords: crash
Talkback is installed and working, but it somehow doesn't catch this crash, so I can't give you any ID.
Just tried one of the pigfoot (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=80069) VC7.1 builds and it appears to be a problem with VC8 since these builds work perfectly, while other (official and inofficial) VC8 builds fail...
