You are using a trunk version. Win98 isn't supported on trunk, see Bug 330208 Unsupported windows versions need error message on startup (and in installer) Bug 330276 Drop support for pre-Win2k platforms (Win9x/Me/NT4) for Gecko 1.9 (Firefox 3). For SeaMonkey 1.1a use http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=Mozilla1.8-SeaMonkey to look for nightlies (D for Download) or http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8/ http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/2006-07-29-11-mozilla1.8/ *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 330208 ***
