RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 345327

Details

In the error console, either clicking "Clear" with the pointer or typing alt-c does nothing. All the other menu commands seem to work, either from the keyboard or by clicking.
Which build are you using? Bug 345327 meant that the clear button didn't work between 2006-07-19 05:52 PDT and 2006-07-26 11:33 PDT on the trunk, (regression from bug 322169). There was another problem in the branch checkin for bug 322169 which caused the clear button to not work between 2006-07-25 14:06 PDT and 2006-07-26 11:45 PDT, on the 1.8 branch. Please dupe or mark this bug as WFM appropriately :)

I don't know the times. The problem has been present for a few days. It might be the same as the first bug, but it is certainly not fixed, and that one is marked as fixed. Maybe it will be fixed in the next working build. I'm using
i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060726 Minefield/3.0a1
which is indeed from 7/26.

I'm sorry for not finding this. I searched very thoroughly. I must not know how to search. I searched under Firefox/Error console/Linux/Trunk with the single keyword Clear, and I got two bugs, 316994 and 346210, neither of which are the ones you mention.

If it works tomorrow I'll mark it as a dupe. Or someone else can do it now if you are sure.
You could try ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-3.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2 , which is a build from today that includes the fix. Or, if you use software update, you should be able to get today's update now.

That is exactly what I did (except using ncftp). That is what doesn't work at all. I'll try again tomorrow. I'm more disturbed about my failure to find the bugs using search. I think I'm going to stop reporting bugs unless I can figure this out.

If you can't find a bug it might mean that it hasn't been reported yet, so don't stop filing!
OK. This is fixed in the 7/28 build. That build is still useless because it does not load the bookmarks, but I managed to test it anyway, and this bug is fixed.
