This is likely a repeat of Bug 163917, but for Mozilla 1.7.13 browser instead of 1.4.x.

The initial WSJ homepage opens too wide to fit the screen size.
 
Opening any article causes the article to load initially correctly, then it will shift some amount downward, leaving excessive whitespace at the top of the page (sometimes half the length of the article, sometimes slightly less).

Returning to the initial WSJ homepage will now display the homepage correctly, with the width being the width of the monitor with no scrolling bar for left to right being required to be used to see the entire pagewidth.

Returning to the article viewed previously will sometimes now display correctly, but usually the view of the article jumps downward a considerable amount upon completely reloading the article, even sometimes a different amount than was viewed previously.

The width format changes randomly when loading pages repeatedly, with the final appearance depending on the progress of the loading of the page, sometimes overwriting text between boxes left to right, sometimes not.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open www.wsj.com to main page on a broadband connection
2. open an article
3. return to main page
4. re-open article
5. return to main page
6. repeat

Actual Results:  
variable page layout on main page and all article pages, varying from viewing to viewing, but often eventually displaying correctly in 3 or 4 viewings of each page.

Bug is consistent over 2 different machines for Mozilla 1.7.13 browser.

Expected Results:  
Consistent WSJ page layout every time a webpage is selected, with auto-sizing to the screensize width of the monitor that is used for viewing.  Also, a consistent presentation of top to bottom whitespace that displays the same each time a WSJ page is selected for viewing.

I do not see this bug on other online newspaper websites, only the Wall Street Journal's paid subscription website.

Earlier versions of the WSJ website, that were used before the WSJ's last major format change, did not exhibit this way, but gave consistent views everytime viewed.

the whitespace is bug 330575.

Being too wide sounds like a bug that might have been fixed since 1.7.  Mozilla 1.7 is no longer supported.  Please try SeaMonkey or Firefox

Seamonkey 1.0.4 fixed the too-wide bug.  The whitespace bug is still there, though, same as with Mozilla 1.7.13

Yes, the whitespace problem is described in bug 330575 and is a problem with the wsj.com site itself and not SeaMonkey.

While it may be a "site problem", none of the current released versions of Opera, IE, or Firefox exhibit this behavior for me.
