351722 - No Talkback in Mac trunk nightlies since ca. 25 August

CaminoTrunk builds stopped getting Talkback included in early August due to a build error:

CmTrunk on 08/06 01:15:00 is good
CmTrunk on 08/06 08:32:00 is bad

Tinderbox logs for Minefield's Mac build machines disappear "before" that point, but so far I've gone back (via builds) to 2006-08-01-04 and not found Talkback.  (The [e-mail] extension folder gets created, but the actual binary is missing.)

I'll attach a snippet of today's CmTrunk log with the build errors, just for easy reference.

CmTrunk 080608 was an "hourly" build.  Hourlies don't ship with Talkback and are only saved until they're replaced by a new build in the tinderbox-builds directory.  The nightly following 080601 was 080704, and both appear to contain Talkback.

There was an error message on *every* build from now back to that point, so I guess that means there's a second build error out there, too (the error in the log just after the Ts report) :(

The regression range in comment 0 is correct for the "other build error" (comment 4) in CmTrunk.

For missing Talkback, the range is

CmTrunk on 08/23 22:18:00 ok
CmTrunk on 08/25 05:04:00 missing

I've verified this by inspection of the builds, so it's really right this time ;)

The Firefox range was generated by inspection of the builds, so it should be accurate (unless Talkback has moved somewhere else in the .app package)....

This affects Sunbird as well, and since Sunbird releases from trunk, is causing me concern. We're planning to cut a release in the next week or two.

Bug 325096 in particular looks interesting in case it had some wacky interaction with the talkback makefiles or something.

Or it was busted earlier in the month (when the "other" error we saw in Camino's logs first started appearing), fixed, and busted again, which seems to have been the case.

2006-08-23-06-trunk is good
2006-08-24-06-trunk is good
2006-08-25-08-trunk is missing

Sorry for the red herring again :(

At this point, I imagine we can assume this bites all Mac products....
