Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.5.0.5 (20060719) While composing a plain text message, if I accidently enter a whitespace immediately before a line break, that line break will be stripped from the message once it is sent to a recipient. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Write random text line, with the last character before a line break being a space. Example: "This is a test. \n" 2. Write more random text. 3. Send message to self and review. Actual Results: The two original text lines were merged into one - the line break was gone. Expected Results: None of my plain-text formatting should be deleted upon sending a message. Although it is easy to circumvent this bug, it is easy to forget to do so despite its ubiquitous precence, which means it occurs often enough to be a major nuisance.
I'm assuming you've sent the wrap column to zero. If so, this is a dupe: bug 261467. It's not that the line breaks are being stripped, it's the the end-of-line spaces are not; and when the message is sent as format=flowed (default), the end-of-line space means "flow to the next line."
Sorry I didn't find bug 261467 when I searched for possible dupes. You are correct, it is the same issue. This entry is hereby marked as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 261467 ***
