If in threaded view and I search for Subject or Sender... Thunderbird hangs with full CPU consumption. Kill it is the only way out. After restart, do remove threaded view...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. view mailbox (with enough messages, say 6000)
2. activate view > Sort by > Threaded
3. go to the search bar with "Subject or sender", type something
4. enjoy

Actual Results:  
spinning wheel, full CPU load, shown to be thunderbird by activity viewer

Expected Results:  
search results (unthreaded probably)

Has been there in 1.5 as well!
Considering major since it makes threaded-view a no-go!

what about after rebuild index?
imap or pop?

Sorry,

It was an IMAP account.
I cannot run it anymore on my machine since I switched back to Apple Mail (which deletes faster!).

I asked a friend running a similar configuration (same server, but an intel mac) and he confirmed me that he could not reproduce the hang.

Happy to leave this closed.
