From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.72 [en] (Win95; U) BuildID: 2000040908 It'd be nice to have the "Edit Bookmarks..." menu selection from the Bookmarks dropdown menu. The only way I could access my bookmarks list (outside of the sidebar) is to hit CTRL-B. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on the Bookmarks dropdown. 2. No "Edit bookmarks..." menu selection 3. Actual Results: Clicking on the dropdown just shows the bookmarks that your profile contains. I'm dang certain that this bug's been reported before, but by heck I can't get the right query criteria to get bugzilla to tell me if it's been done before.. :)
It's on the bookmarks menu, but not the blue pulldown thing. (What's the point of the blue pulldown thing, anyway?)
Good point. With the sidebar supposedly taking over that particular function, there would be less of a need for the Bookmarks dropdown menu in the menubar.
Oh, it's still nice to be able to access the bookmarks through a menu. It's just a bit redundant to have both a menu and a blue thing that acts like a menu.
The only thing is that the bookmark list is in triplicate. Sidebar, menubar (between Go and Tasks), and bluebar.
I've changed your RFE. Otherwise I would've had to close it as invalid now that you've found the 'real' bookmakrs menu. The Bookmarks sidebar tab is a customizable extra - just one of hundreds of sidebar tabs a user can easily add or remove. The toplevel bookmarks menu and the the popup Bookmarks menu are legacies from Netscape's platform specific days. The Mac had a toplevel menu, Windows had a bookmarks popup. Eventually one will win out.

Summary: [RFE]Include "Edit Bookmarks..." entry under Bookmarks → [RFE]Include "Manage Bookmarks..." entry under Bookmarks popup
Something to consider: because the Bookmarks menu was buried as a submenu of the Communicator menu on all Win32 NN 4.x, MS-Windows users will in general be used to using the toolbar popup Bookmarks menu. I can't see it going away. For those that want to use it, it's an unnecessary inconsistency to not have a "Manage Bookmarks..." item on the popup menu, and, for that matter, an "Add Current Page" item. To put it another way, better to have duplicate functionality, as in NN 4.x, than almost-duplicate functionality that 4.x users will find frustrating.

This is actually a feature ...

Summary: [RFE]Include "Manage Bookmarks..." entry under Bookmarks popup → [FEATURE] Include "Manage Bookmarks..." entry under Bookmarks popup
Target Milestone: --- → M17
Putting on [nsbeta2+][5/16] radar. This is a feature MUST complete work by 05/16 or we may pull this feature for PR2.

Target Milestone: M17 → M16
To be more specific, the bookmarks button menu first two items should be (same as current Bookmarks menu): Add Current Page Manage Bookmarks ... changing to M16 since status whiteboard says [5/16] for further discussion on the number of access points to Bookmarks, see bug 39332.
I just checked in a fix.
