Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.5.0.7 (20060909) Forwarding an email containing Japanese characters is incredibly. It takes ages for the message composition windo to appear. Furthermore, typing email addresses and hitting return yields a significant delay, as if this was causing the forward message to be repainted entirely. Replying to the exact same Japanese message is quick. This issue is relatively new. As far as I remember, 1.4 didn't exhibit this problem. Configuration details: - forward is configured as: forward inline (not by attachment) - reply is configured as: "start my response before the message being replied to" Example message header field exhibiting the problem: X-Mailer: Becky! ver. 2.25.02 [ja] Content-type: text/plain; charset=ISO-2022-JP Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Forward a Japanese email inline Actual Results: Extremely slow display of the message composition window Expected Results: Quick and fast, as usual
Version: unspecified → 1.5
Does turning spell checking off help? If so -> duplicate of bug 324521 (fixed for 2.0).
Indeed, the problem is no longer present in 2.0alpha1. Switching to that now. Thanks for the tip and sorry for the trouble.
