Details
We need a test script to inflate existing .xpi and .jar files and their install.rdf metadata so they can be compared against the database for accuracy.
This would help us find errors in the upload form, possibly, and also make sure that the bits we are serving are correct.
This could piggy-back on update-hashes.php, which already checks files for correct hashes. The same script could have an added component for inflation and data verification.
TM 3.0 -- this won't be done until after the v3 launch, most likely.
You think that past extractions were not valid? Or are yhou looking to grab more metadata than we did originally.

There are and will be discrepancies until we have a script like this to verify the data in the .xpi's.
It'd just be a good thing to have automated. It could also be used for clean-up of stage for doing things like removing unmatched .xpi files, etc.

I'm just sniping random AMO bugs, but I think this is well resolved by the validation tool, if not by the existing tests before that project.
