this has been reported a bunch, but it doesn't happen on my system. Any ideas on how to reproduce -- did you do anything to change the default theme?

sorry, i have no idea how to reproduce this bug.
i'm using the standardtheme for vista, just changed some colors.
btw: in thunderbird these big scrollbars are appearing too.
I hope my bad english is a bit understandable
I could not reproduce this bug under Firefox 2.0 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0) using Windows Vista RTM.
However, it DOES exist under Thunderbird 1.5.0.x as well as the Thunderbird 2.0 Alpha1
I did a clean install of Vista as well as clean installs of Firefox and TB. Afterwards I copied my profiles folder of TB from a previous install to retain my message filters and such.
However I do not remember if the scrollbars were already bigger before this copying operation :s

Forgot to mention that the problem is only present if themes are enabled. If you revert back to the standard Win2K look in vista the scrollbars are rendered correctly.
Dunno if this helps much though :)

Confirmed on my system (Vista x86 w/ Themes, RC2 graphics driver from nVidia website, Thunderbird 1.5)
So... the scrollbar issue seems to pop up with some users. However, I was never able to recreate it on my Vista RTM machine with firefox.
The issue was present in all TB versions I installed up to the previously reported 2.0 alpha.
After getting aware of RC1 Beta1 I installed it and behold; the issue suddenly is no longer there...

Windows Vista RTM (Build 6000.16384) Ultimate Edition. Due to other problems with the nVidia driver, I switched back to the built in Windows graphics drivers, which causes the exact same problem.

Can anyone still reproduce this on a current trunk build or on Beta 1?

The problem has dissapeared some time ago. I have not been able to reproduce it again. With none of the firefox and thunderbird builds.
Currently running both TB and FF on Vista Build 6001 SP 1 version 658

Resolving as WORKSFORME, because it seems like it can't be reproduced any longer. Feel free to re-open if you see this problem now.
