create dependency bugs under this one, and attach translated versions of the firefox privacy policy to those bugs. we will round up translations in a week or so, get them reviewed by legal, then publish on mozilla.com Base for translations is at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/privacy-policy.html

Shouldn't you upload the original html files with php codes instead of the client side html? Then it would be simpler to translate. Regards.

Nukeador, here is the original file. Among the variables at the top, the only one to translate is $page_id which is the document title.

Here is the Hungarian translation of the Mozilla Firefox Privacy Policy. However I am not sure which one is the page_id variables.

Chris, I already had a talk with Gerv on IRC and via private message about translating legal content for Mozilla. That's a bit different as translating normal webpages or any of the products. For us volunteers who have to translate this document isn't it easy to find the right legal wording. I think no-one of us is a lawyer in his main profession. My question is, can Mozilla offer a review by any appropriate person who is familar with the local law? I don't wanna be blamed if I made a mistake in translating. It could be also possible that additional content is needed for a country which we doesn't know. I don't know what steps were done for the translating process of the EULA but I think it has to be the same for all depending bugs on that one. Could you give me (us) an enlightenment? Thank you.

Is this document still up to date, after 1,5 years?

I think there are changes underway for the privacy policy, but if there are we will need a new round of contributions for those changes.
> My question is, can Mozilla offer a review by any appropriate person who is familar with the local law?
yes, cbrady has rounded up legal help in many locales that can help to review and refine any changes that are needed for local law.
The bottom line is that we need to get both localization help and legal help on these legal documents, and cbrady can help with the later.

(In reply to comment #10) > I think there are changes underway for the privacy policy, Can we have this a little bit more concrete maybe? We were planning to start the translation, but of course it's a rather tedious work and nobody wants to waste time with it, if it's going to change anyway.

Chris, could you please give us a comment to the current state? Thanks!

Kadir, last I heard in October is that the legal team will have this translation done by an external company for like a dozen top locales.

Okay, I'm resolving it here then. Please reopen if we should need it. Thanks for the info, Pascal.
