Since updating to the latest version in the last 24 hours, Thunderbird has been automatically deleting incoming mail without warning. I don't use any filters or junk mail control so the missing email hasn't be rerouted to a folder. The only way to tell that I've actually lost email is by watching the status bar as email is downloaded (ie: downloading 5 of 5 messages) and then counting how many messages actually make it to my inbox. I suspect that Thunderbird may be deleting junk mail (as opposed to legitimate email) but I cannot confirm this since I don't know what I've lost.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.download messages
2.hope nothing is lost
3.

Maybe the "downloading 5 of 5 messages" is just incorrect?
It's not incorrect. I now check my email via webmail and count how many messages I have before downloading them. Thunderbird is definitely deleting incoming email on its own. So far I suspect it's only junk mail that's disappearing.

A pop protocol might help find out what's going on.

It's possible the mail is just not showing up in the thread pane. In that case this would be bug 360409. Dan: Are you able to open the actual mail file of the folder and check if the mails are there? (Find it in your profile folder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder)
After going through the mail folder in my profile, it does appear that this is bug 360409. Thanks!
