The tamarin team requires an ftp account for posting pre-compiled compiler and test suite binaries that can be used to test out Tamarin. These binaries will be updated at least once a week. The only access required is to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/js/tamarin.

Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan,

I need two things from you: a username and an ssh public key for the staging server. Please attach the public key as a comment to this bug (don't try to copy/paste it or the formatting will cause trouble), and I'll get your account created.

Thanks,

Hi, Zach.

I'm going to have Dan Schaffer (Adobe QA lead) be our gatekeeper for posting files. I'll have him attach his SSH pub key and username shortly to this bug. Thanks for the help. Dan
Attached file public key
attached my public key (id_dsa.pub). my mozilla username is: dschaffe@adobe.com
I can be the gatekeeper for tamarin ftp files. Perhaps we can keep tamarin related files in ftp.mozilla.org:/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/tamarin

How about /pub/mozilla.org/js/tamarin ? The mozilla/ directory is really just Mozilla suite files and historical material, and I think people will probably expect to find Tamarin under js.

I'm creating your account now.
Ok your account has been created.

You can access it with: ssh dschaffe@stage.mozilla.org, and the tamarin space is located in /home/ftp/pub/js/tamarin. Any files placed there will get sync'd to ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/js/tamarin automatically.

Let me know if you have any trouble logging in, or if you'd prefer a different directory on the ftp site.

ssh access to stage.mozilla.org started failing for me Friday 5/16/08.

$ ssh dschaffe@stage.mozilla.org

So, in theory, direct shell access to stage was going to be turned off for security reasons on stage-new (see http://www.justdave.net/dave/2007/10/22/stagemo-shift-reloaded/), but I didn't think that switch had been thrown. The flip side of all this is that you'll want to be able to upload files using scp or sftp, which will, of course, remain enabled. Are you able to scp files to stage, or is that broken as well?

Justdave: did I miss this? Currently, stage-new is unusable for me, but I can ssh to stage just fine.

Reed, a 2 year old bug being pushed into server-ops isn't going to give any of us enough context to fix it.

Feel free to close it... Bugs assigned to zach or preed don't help anybody, so the entire component's open bugs underwent a reassignment to better defaults.
Too old, reopen if there's updated info.
