User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
If you bookmark a site that does *not* have a favicon, go to it from a site that *does* have a favicon, and loading the bookmarked site fails (for some error, timeout, site not found, whatever), then the favicon for the bookmark that you tried to load is incorrectly changed to the one of the site you were just at.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
To see this bug in action...
- Create a bogus bookmark, to some URL like http://280.213.385.411/ (in this case, an invalid IP address).
- Navigate to a page that has a favicon.
- From this page, load the bogus bookmark, and wait for it to fail.
This can happen for legitimate bookmarks any time that you try to load one and the site fails, if the bookmark you try to load does not have a favicon but the site you were looking at right before does.
Actual Results:
Check the bookmarks menu... The bogus bookmark has the icon of the site you were at previously.
Expected Results:
If a bookmark fails to load, its icon should not be changed.
Repro'ed on multiple machines (all running Windows). Have not tested OSX / Linux. Using default Firefox theme.
