I have an email in the inbox folder which is in fact an forwarded email which has a picture attachment (jpeg, about 500kB). When I open the original email, I see in attachment the original message icon and the attachment icon (assigned to irfanview).  When I try to open the picture by clicking on it nothing opens, when I try to set "view attachment inline" active, it does not do anything. In case to look into the original message with attachments inline, the picture correctly opens after the body in the window. 
In case of trying to save the file, the name of the file in save window appears correctly, but after clicking save, I get a error message:
Unable to save the attachment. Please check your filename or try again later.

I have mentioned some similar strange behavior after updating with the download manager, which was not working, maybe it has something to do with it.
Deleting of compreg.dat does not solved that.


I have mentioned problems with opening files after upgrading of the Seamonkey from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 and now to 1.0.7. It seems, that something after installation is deleting associtations or similar.

I can forward the email or body or similar on request.
If the message isn't confidential, save it as a .EML file and attach it to this bug (use the Create New Attachment link above).  Otherwise, forward it to me *as an attachment*.
Could you please try a more recent version of SeaMonkey and verify whether you still experience this issue? Please also consider closing this bug if all is well.

In the newest SeaMonkey 1.9 I am getting after upgrading of the irfan different behaviour described in the Bug 431167.

As it was written above, the behaviour is the same for 2.0.7, the bug 431167 is here present too.

@Reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you still can reproduce the problem with a current SeaMonkey version and a current OS and if you can contribute a step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem due to <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines>  (containing every key press and every mouse click) how to reproduce the problem reliably.
