Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.9 (20061207) (I have a hard time believing this only happens for me but I couldn't find an existing bug, so here goes.) I have my messages (IMAP) sorted by Order Received, with the OR column hidden. Every few days I'll start TB and find that the sort has reset itself to Date [Sent], which throws a bunch of trash to the top of the list where I'll never see it to get rid of it. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to this bug, but it happens often enough (once or twice a week) to be annoying. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Show Order Received column 2. Sort by OR 3. Hide OR column 4. Use program for a few days, starting in the morning, running all day, and closing in evening Actual Results: Sorting sometimes resets to Date, making me repeat steps 1-3. (Not a show-stopper, but annoying. Especially if I haven't had my coffee yet.) Expected Results: TB remembers to do what I tell it to.
Instead of repeating steps 1-3, you can simply use the menu: View | Sort By | Order received I'll see if I can reproduce this.
Possibly a dupe of bug 180604. I've been running with both my POP and IMAP Inboxes sorted by Order Received; I restart sometimes a dozen times a day, often switching between versions. Both boxes are still sorted as expected.
This does look like a dupe of 180604, right down to the random nature of the reset. Something that may possibly be of use: I run TB both at work and at home, with both versions configured to access my work account via IMAP. (I'm also running 1.5.0.9 in both places.) The version of TB I run at home only checks when I ask it to, and runs 24/7. At work I have TB set to check every 10 minutes but only run it when I'm here. Work TB is the one showing the problem. I wonder if the reset on the work machine happens when I access from home. I can't see why it would, since aside from update frequency they're set up the same, but I'll try it this weekend. If Work TB is reset Monday morning you'll at least have something to go on.
Updating from comment 3: Checking from another location doesn't seem to cause the problem. I guess it really is random. I was hoping I'd be able to at least provide something to help narrow it down.
In an effort to get this one moving, is there something I can download and run to watch what TB does to see what happens in a normal vs. an amnesiac startup?
