Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 Build Identifier: 1.5.0.9 (20061207) I want to sent hyperlink to file located on the network. To do this I have to add not listed parameter so called moz-do-not-send with value set to true after I point to file choosing Insert->Link (Ctrl-L shortcut). I would recommend to add checkbox (set as defalut as checked) for this hidden parameter moz-do-not-send and name this checkbox as "hyperlink only". Anyway I don't see any reason to send complete file as default Lint value especially that one can add file as attachment to the message if needed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Choose Insert->Link 2.point to file on the network and name the link 3.send message Actual Results: file is sent completely attached Expected Results: only link is sent there is not visible parameter moz-do-not-send from drop down list in advanced properties of inserted "link"
In TB 2.0, you won't have to type in the 'moz-do-not-send' -- there's a checkbox on the Insert Link dialog. Normally, that checkbox is left unchecked (meaning "do not send"). However, if you enter a file: link, that checkbox gets checked automatically. This is because Thunderbird doesn't open file: links from the message body -- that concern is discussed very early in the dupe, starting at bug 132257 comment 3. Bug 135830 is about making file: links work as expected.
