Some applications such as OpenOffice or Microsoft Office can download URLs directly. This is important because the documents can be edited and saved to these URLs with WebDAV support.
To support these applications, the feature request is that, when configuring the application for the mime type, a check box with the label "Pass URL to application instead of downloading" is provided. If the checkbox is selected, when a link of a file of that type is clicked, the browser does not download it. Instead, it executes the helper application and passes the URL as argument.
Reproducible: Always
