User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070111 SeaMonkey/1.1 Build Identifier: TBird version 1.5.0.9 (20061207) When I logon to my ISP's general NNTP news server, it requests my user ID in a popup. After entering my ID, I get another popup requesting my password. TBird treats these as two separate passwords with no user ID, at least when Password Manager displays its saved user IDs. TBird should recognize these as a single ID/password pair, handing the submission to the news server's logon requests appropriately. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Running TBird, logon to a server that splits its input into two separate steps. 2. Request [Tools > Options] on the TBird menu bar. 3. On the Options window, select the Privacy button. 4. Select the Passwords tab. 5. Select the View Saved Passwords button. Actual Results: The ID and password will be on separate lines. The Username for both lines will be <not specified>. Expected Results: The ID and password should be on the same line. The ID should appear under Username. Split logons are becoming more and more common.

This seems to be working okay now. However, see bug #348941, which reports a problem with "split" logins through Toolkit/Password Manager. If Thunderbird is changed to use Toolkit/Password Manager, this could again become a problem unless bug #348941 is fixed.
