Be nice to have CTRL-R be a hotkey to mark or unmark a message as read or undread, even in the message compose window.
GroupWise uses CTRL-R like that and it would be nice for me to be able to work the same way at home.
Suggest further that maybe a user front end to change hotkey assignments, func similar to Word/Excel but less complicated of course.

Summary: Enh request - CTRl-R to Mark/Unmark Message as read → RFE: CTRL-R to Mark/Unmark message read status
I need to pull out tb, but from memory n4 and the mozmail suite use r / shift - r to twiddle the read state, while ctrl - r is reply and ctrl - shift - r is reply to all....
Summary: RFE: CTRL-R to Mark/Unmark message read status → CTRL-R to Mark/Unmark message read status

in thunderbird, "m" twiddles read state. r marks thread read (doesn't twiddle), and shift-R does nothing.

yup - a direct conflict with Steve's request

Seems like we can't offer this key combo as it's in conflict with another. It's too bad there isn't a key combo mapping that would allow for this kind of change.
