OS: Vista Ultimate

Steps to reproduce: 

1. Download 1-29 nightly (or a nightly before, i tested several nightlys).
2. Set FF as default.
3. Check for updates. Apply update and restart.
4. Try to launch a link from Tbird ->fail? (nothing happens)
5. Try to use Start search and type a url like www.getfirefox.com -> error message - see screenshot
6. Shutdown Trunk and restart -> works now

Note: With 2007013003 -> latest Trunk it still works.

During the update from 2007013003 to latest trunk i see a UAC Warning that the helper.exe is applied. It was not the case in the other updates.

The first update won't de-elevate since the code that relaunches Firefox is in the updater from the previous build so chances are the theory this is caused by elevation is true. Could you try the same using the installer since it launches the app elevated since it is elevated by the OS during install?

When i use the Installer it fails on first start (i get the same error message like in this screenshot), when i restart minefield its still working..however i see no UAC warning any other applied change.

I can corroborate what Tomcat sees. My steps are:

1. Download the nightly trunk build.
2. Run the installer. When the build launches, I check the box that says to use Minefield as the default browser.
3. Try to launch any links from Start|Search->fail. I get the same error dialog that Tomcat has in the screenshot.

This is the same thing I saw when testing last night. I am running on Vista Home Basic with the latest updates.

Then fixing bug 364483 and bug 367540 should fix this

Resolving as duplicate of bug 367540 since that is where the patch is
