Okay, here's all of the updates for rc1 for the website, combined into one patch. This is what will be checked in.

By the way, the release has been branched and tagged already, and now I just have to roll the tarball.

I also updated the docs page and added a "3.0" item to the docs. (I also added the 3.0 branch to the docs page, which is what the second checkin is.)
