When I try to select text within an html formated message, the point of selection differs from the point of click to select. For example,

"I'd like to add you to my professional network of friends."
                           1 2

1 = where text starts to select
2 = where I clicked for text to begin selecting

So if I wanted to select the word "professional", I would have to click the cursor just before the f and end my drag just after the t in network.

Do you have any extensions installed? If so, when you run Thunderbird in Safe Mode, do you see the same problem?

Problem exists in safe mode, and with extensions disabled.
