I had both versions listed in Add\Remove programs. I uninstalled the 2.0.0.2 and it blew away the 2.0.0.3 as well. The 2.0.0.3 was still listed in Add/Remove, but not functional. I removed the 2.0.0.3 entry from Add/Remove and reinstalled version 2.0.0.3 and everything was restored. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I'm not able to reproduce this on Windows XP. Can you both give me more information about your systems/users? Specifically: 1. When you initially installed Firefox, did you install it in the default location (C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox)? 2. Did you have this issue when upgrading to 2.0.0.2 from 2.0.0.1? Or are you new to using Firefox? 3. I see you're using XP. What version of XP do you have installed? 4. What type of user account were you performing the upgrade from? Was it an Administrator or another type of user? Thanks in advance.
I (from bug 375260 - not th OP here) can't recall such issues on previous upgrades. My installation folder has always been the default one. I use XP professional SP2. I do everything from an administrator account. when manually deleting the reg keys i had no access trouble. HTH.
Thanks Ofek. I'll give this a few more tries and see if I can reproduce it.
I can confirm this bug. I am running a laptop with a 2.8GHz P4 running WinXP Pro SP2 (upgraded). Same thing happened when I upgraded to Thunderbird 2.0b2 from 1.5.0.10 (similar to [bug 274170] and [bug 289348]).
