User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070320 SUSE/2.0.0.3-3.1 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: version 2.0pre (20070312) MozillaThunderbird-1.99.2-30.2.rpm At the moment it is necessary to perform one search for each address book if you do not know in which one your card in demand is stored. Likewise searching for emails across all post-boxes would be very convenient. Reproducible: Always The (sub)list concept would provide an alternative for storing messages in an ordered way. Instead of storing different types of addresses into multiple address books one could store them into different lists of one single address book. However this is currently not supported (Bug 117836). Even worse it is not possible any more do drag address cards into sublists. For KDE-users it would probably be the best solution not to store addresses by Thunderbird, but to obtain them from an interface to KDE (like kaddressbook, kontact).

Duplicate of bug 170270. > Likewise searching for emails across all post-boxes would be very convenient. If I remember correctly, you can do this from advanced search in Thunderbird 2.0, but I can't remember the bug number. > Even worse it is not possible any more do drag address cards into sublists. It is possible, hold control down whilst dragging and droping the cards (though bug 349044 is also relevant). > For KDE-users it would probably be the best solution not to store addresses by > Thunderbird, but to obtain them from an interface to KDE (like > kaddressbook, kontact). That's bug 311293. In future, please keep one issue for each bug. Marking this as duplicate of bug 170270, as that's the main issue here.
