User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.10) Gecko/20070226 Fedora/1.5.0.10-1.fc6 Firefox/1.5.0.10 pango-text Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.10 (20070302) I use TB under Linux on a laptop, and over the past year have had a couple of times where TB appears to get *really* confused after a network change. e.g. hibernating my laptop on the work network, then bringing it home and un-hibernating. What appears to happen is that TB takes several seconds to figure out that it's existing IMAPS (can't talk for POP) TCP connections are no longer working, resets them and reconnects successfully. But then within 1-2 minutes suddenly reports that "the mail server is no longer available" (even though I am sitting there reading online email) and bam! the entire IMAP account suddenly is empty in the MUA. i.e. I can see the account name heading - but there's no longer any mail folders in it. If I then restart TB, they all come back, but the mail folders that are cached lose their settings. i.e. cache is corrupt, TB no longer has "Check this folder for new messages" checked on those particular mail folders. With my mail folder size (and network latency), that means sitting there for 1-2 HOURS while it synchronizes again :-( Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. I cannot replicate this. I do this hibernating trick every day - and most times it's just fine. However, it certainly would be nice if it never happened :-) Thanks! Jason

Reporter, does the issue still occur in the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported 2.0.0.x is now 2.0.0.16)

It still happens with 2.0.0.14 (latest release under FC8). Was something related fixed in .15/.16? Unfortunately this is a rare occurrence - I still can't duplicate at will. But I just had this happen 4-5 weeks ago. I had my laptop at work, was all synced up, hibernated, took it home, restarted and thunderbird hung. Restarting TB lead to TB re-download all my mail again.

Do you mean bug 213827, which was fixed (for tb3) last week?
Jason, does bug 213827 sound like your problem? Can you confirm problem still exists by using TB3 beta? (backup profile before using) http://en-us.www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/early_releases/
