Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.8.0.11) Gecko/20070312 Firefox/1.5.0.11 Build Identifier: Thunderbird Version 1.5.0.7 and probably Version 1.5.0.10 When sending an email which contains lines with trailing spaces followed by a Cariage Return, it results in the received email in 1). if the parameter "redact in HTML" (maybe that's not the right name in english cause I have a french version) is disabled (in accounts parameters), all the trailing spaces (1 or more) are deleted. For example, if I write : "blabla[space][CR] coucou" The received email results in : "blabla[CR] coucou" Note: options parameters "encode in quoted printable" and "send message in HTML" have no incidence on that 2). if the above parameter is disabled, only one of the trailing spaces (except if there is only one trailing space) is supressed and the cariage return is no more present. For example, if I write the same "blabla[space][CR] coucou" The received email results (even if encoding is 8 bit) in : "blabla[space]coucou" note: if options parameter "encode in quoted printable" is enabled, that results in : "blabla=20[CR] coucou" which is normal, but wich is displayed, anyway, "blabla[space]coucou" like if the ending cariage return was interpreted has a soft brake. Parameter "send message in HTML" seems to have no incidence on that Final Notes: - If a message is writen this way and saved in the draft messages (rather than sent), all trailing spaces are deleted too if account parameter "redact in HTML is disabled, but all are kept if this paremeter is enabled. - This bug may have a link with that following one : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195938 - As very few lines end with spaces, this bug can be considered as minor Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Write a message : "blabla[space][CR] coucou" 2.send it to yourself 3.dependind on "account parameter" "redact in HTML" the received message will be "blabla[CR] coucou" or "blabla[space]coucou"
Version: unspecified → 1.5
1. In HTML, extra space has no significance. This is not a bug. 2. When you write in HTML and send in plain text, trailing spaces cause lines to be joined. This is bug 125928 You are correct--when you edit a draft there is bug 195938
