Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.11pre (20070411)
I set up HTML templates in my "Templates" folder.
I create mail filter rules to reply to emails meeting certain criteria with the HTML templates created above.
When the HTML emails are auto-sent they are converted to MIME (base 64) instead of going out as HTML. I can manually send the templates and the HTML remains intact. Any attempt to have a mail filter send a reply with images, links, etc. results in the images being converted to MIME and attached in an unreadable way by the receiver.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an HTML template with images, links, etc.
2. Create a mail filter rule with criteria to reply using the HTML template above.
3.
Actual Results:
The recipient will get the email with the images missing, but attached in MIME format.
Sending the template manually works just fine.
Expected Results:
The email should retain its HTML formatting, whether it is sent manually or by the auto-reply initiated by the mail filter. The email should look identical to how it looks when it is sent manually.

Duplicate/related bug 326181?
Magnus,
Looks like it might be the same problem. I did numerous searches for an existing bug but didn't see that one. I believe it's the same. Looks like anytime rules are used for template replies the template is sent as plain text, regardless of the template's original format.
