User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070222 SeaMonkey/1.1.1 Mnenhy/0.7.5.0
Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 2.0.0.0 (20070326)
When I first installed TBird 2.0, I had the prior version installed in C:\Thunderbird. I installed it using the "Standard" type of setup. It went into C:\Program Files without removing the prior version from C:\Thunderbird.
I then removed TBird 2.0 and reinstalled it using the "Custom" type of setup. This allowed me to specify where I wanted it installed, which was the only customization I requested.
Where to install TBird -- and where to put its icons for launching the application -- should be separate from customization. The latter usually refers to whether to install optional components. I wanted all components, which is why I originally selected "Standard".
Reproducible: Always

magnus, should this go to FF install, where the "common" issues are addressed?

Well, we do share the installer... but either way it seems pretty much wontfix to me. I don't see much point in making the standard install not "standard", and anyone who wants to customize the location will be used from most other software to quickly go through the custom install instead.

resolving -> wontfix. If you want to choose a non-standard install location then select custom.
