in 1.5, as well as 2.0, you need to do a Get New Mail after step 2 in order to ever see messages deleted from the pop3 server.

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I've been doing Get New Mail all weekend (both automatically ever 10 minutes and manually when I get the itch). It's still not being removed from the server - nothing was deleted since April 19 - when I installed 2.0 - until today, April 23, when I noticed the problem.

Turns out the filter I have for messages marked "potential-spam" set to move to the trash, but I hadn't noticed the new TB 2.0 option in the drop down menu for Delete from POP server. Thanks for your time

On TB 1.5 we had: Until I delete or move them from Inbox. On TB 2.0 we have only: Until I delete them. When I move messages to my Local Folders, TB 2.0 does not delete them from POP server (TB 1.5 did).

using tools | options | advanced | config editor, toggle the pref "mail.pop3.deleteFromServerOnMove" to true, and you'll get the old behavior.
