User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070310 Iceweasel/2.0.0.3 (Debian-2.0.0.3-2) Build Identifier: 20070326 In vertical view, the message list has the same layout as in traditional 3-pane view, only that the space available to display the different columns (sender, date, subject etc) is just one third of the usual widths. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In the view menu, switch to vertical view 2. visit any mail folder. 3. Actual Results: Due to the limited width of the message list, I do not find a way to display at least the most essential bits of information (subject, sender, date) together. In default view, I have 9 visible columns (apart from the default ones, I've added "size"). In vertical view, thunderbird still attempts to display all those 9 columns, despite width of the message list being reduced to something like one third of the usual size. Expected Results: In order to be usable, a message listing in vertical view should have a layout similar to how it looks like in MS Outlook or Novell Evolution: Instead of colums for date, sender and subject, this information should be grouped vertically for each message. cf. the vertical view in Evolution or MS Outlook.
