Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
Build Identifier: http://download.mozilla.org/?product=thunderbird-2.0.0.0&os=linux&lang=en-US

I've installed 2.0 on my Etch. After I've copied the files over the old ones, it starts well, but my account tree and my messages disappeared. The profile has been left intact, and I can downgrade to 1.5 After starting the buggy version, there is an error message in the log:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIStringBundle.GetStringFromName]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: XStringBundle :: getString :: line 17" data: no]

And when I try to set "View->Messages->All", another generated:

Error: accountManagerDataSource has no properties
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/msgMail3PaneWindow.js
Line: 1107

This setting has been reseted after every stop, and it doesn't have any effect. the most of the toolbar buttons greyed out, but I can see my account preferences in setting.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Thunderbird.

Do you mean that you copied program directory contents of Tb 2.x over program directory of Tb 1.5.x?
> I can downgrade to 1.5 After starting the buggy version,
How did you downgrade? You copied backup of program directory contents of Tb 1.5.x over program directory on which you had overrided Tb 2.x?

Do you use extension(s)? I saw a thread in a forum in Japan which said "account is not displayed if 'Check for new message at startup' is off, when an extension is used." Is this the case? Problem occurs even when Safe-Mode of TB?

I'd suggest you don't copy over things manually (mail folders are ok, but settings shouldn't be copied over). Just make a backup of the old profile, and let thunderbird use the profile.
Reporter, does this issue still occur in the latest supported 2.0.0.14 / trunk nightlies?
