When I get a new mail notification window on my IMAP account, the indicated emails are only from the first check of email; they do not reflect new messages (or even existing messages) from the latest poll of the email server's account. Thunderbird version 2.0.0.0 (20070326), windows XP (32-bit), SP2. To replicate: 1) Open IMAP email account 2) wait for new email notification. 3) send new email to self 4) the next email notfication does not contain new self-sent message subject, only original new email notfication information.
Do you mean when you have like 3-4 unread (at least left) and get a new mail the notification can still list the old ones?
More like the other way around. When new mail comes in, the notify only shows the old unread mail, it doesn't list any of the new unread email. It is OK if it lists the old unread email as long as it first lists the new emails.

Nope, dupe of Bug 138631 (close though, thanks for the pointer). Scary, old bug since 2002.
