User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.0 (20070326) Sometimes it is essential to attach one or multiples emails when composing/replying or forwarding a mail. Currently to perform this activity we need to save the email(S) to be attached as .eml files in the filesystem and then attach them as files. Other email clients like from Microsoft permit attaching emails directly without having to save them as files. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Compose a new mail 2. The attach button should give an option to attach emails along with files/webpages. 3. On selecting the option to attach emails Thunderbird should let the user choose emails to attach from different folders. Actual Results: Currently the option to attach emails does not exist Expected Results: The attachment button while composing emails should have an option to attach emails This feature is extremely useful feature in the corporate environments when people need to send emails as attachments for references.
You can drag-n-drop a message to the area where attachments go. But sure, confirming RFE.

Summary: Attach emails while composing/replying/forwarding emails - Feature Request → the attach button should also allow picking emails

The attachment box is not displayed by default (maybe a UI change since 2007) unless the user has added one or more attachments already, but does display when at email is dragged over the header section of the composer window. Dragging an email onto the editor section still does nothing (in either plain text or HTML composition mode). This is contrary to Evolution and Outlook, which work as expected.
Severity: normal → S3
