Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3

I was using FF 1.5.11 with an older (unknown) version of the del.icio.us Bookmarks extension working fine. When I updated to 1.5.29 (actually had to uninstall and install new version), I found that when I manually typed a URL in the address bar and hit [Enter] the browser did not respond. I disabled the new extension in the extension side-bar and the situation went away. I re-enabled it and the problem returned. Thinking the problem might be compatibility with the 1.5.x browser, I did an upgrade to FF 2.0.0.3. The problem was identical. Originally, when I installed the extension there had been a problem where it would not install automatically from the Mozilla Add-Ons web site, reporting that perhaps the extension was corrupted and so I had to install by downloading the .xpi file and manually prompting for install. So, I now uninstalled the extension and was this time able to re-install it directly from the web site. Now with a new browser version and a freshly downloaded / installed copy of the extension the problem is the same. Oddly, when I disable the extension in the side-bar, FF says the extension will be disabled when FF is restarted, but the problem goes away immediately without restarting. Clicking the Enable button (again without restarting FF) immediately reproduces the problem. Also, once in a while, if I do restart FF the problem will not manifest for a while, but does come back after only brief usage. There is no problem with navigating to a web site either through a bookmark, or by searching for the site through the search-bar; only through manual entry of the URL.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install del.icio.us Bookmarks 1.5.29 extension
2.Manually type a URL in the address bar
3.Watch the browser do nothing at all
Actual Results:
Browser does not become unresponsive; it simply makes no apparent effort to load the page. I can still type other URLs or navigate through other means (bookmark or search in the search bar, clicking a link, etc.)

Expected Results:
Go to the web page requested, or at least attempt to.

Thank you for your follow-up. The answer, however, is unknown. After some unrelated problems with OSX, I did a full wipe and reinstall and am now trying not to install any non-essential apps there at all. I am using the newest version of the del.icio.us add-on (2.0.72) in FF2 on Linux running in a VM with no unusual behavior. But, for now, I have abandoned FF on OSX and am doing most work in the VM.
I can confirm that I still see this problem. It takes a while to appear, however, in my case- it's not right away. Usually after I have accumulated a number of windows and/or tabs, the problem presents itself. I do have Del.icio.us extension installed (latest version of both it and FF) and I haven't tried uninstalling it yet... I like it too much!
Peter, do you see any error messages in the Error Console when the problem
occurs? By "latest version", do you mean Firefox 3.x?

Please also report the problem to the developers of the Del.icio.us extension.
