Search works fine in Inbox and other folders. However, when I try to search for particular word or phrase in any Newsgroup by the Entire Message search selection, no results are reported. It does work in Newsgroups for subject, sender, etc. This is true for newsgroups from several different sources.
I downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Tbird with no improvement.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Be in a Newsgroup
2.Type in a search term
3.Select Entire Message
4. Hit enter.
Actual Results:  
No terms show, even though they are there.

Expected Results:  
Showed terms in messages that in fact are there.

This worked OK in prior Tbird version before I just upgraded.

Confirmed on linux (for the quicksearch bar).

In the advanced search, you can only choose Subject and From.

At present, the implemented support for searching the whole message, headers and body text, in newsgroup folders in Thunderbird remains, as is: 
download/synchronize messages you want for offline use, 
thereafter go offline to search them *locally*.

to #2: online search in the message source, would be possible if news servers would allow the XPAT option. Changes for XPAT support in existing services are very remote; to maintain overall performance additional resources are necessary, for instance a number of news servers working in parallel to balance the load of search requests.

If quick filtering "message body" is not supported for news unless we are "offline" AND news folder is selected for offline use, then perhaps we should not show that quickfilter in situations where it won't work.
