382363 - "Hide completed tasks" should also hide cancelled tasks (rename to outstanding?)

Rationale:

When I do not want to see completed tasks it is as I want to concentrate on tasks that have not been solved yet, that need my attention. Cancelled tasks do not need it, they have already been cancelled so they are similar to the completed ones.

So I suggest to make the check-box "Hide completed tasks" hide both completed and cancelled tasks. Having done so it would be worth considering to rename the check box (something like "hide completed/cancelled tasks"?).

I see it in Sunbird on both Linux & Windows, but I think it is the same in Lightning.

Sunbird 0.5 2007-05-29 on Linux + Sunbird 0.5pre 2007-05-23 on Windows.

My comment is directed toward lightning:  I'm not sure what "mode" the task list in the Today Pane is in, but like he is saying above, it shouldn't include "Cancelled" tasks if "Show Completed Tasks" is not checked.  If a task is cancelled, then I shouldn't need to worry about working on it.  This goes for the Task Window as well.  I'm thinking most of the logic for "Completed" tasks should apply to "Cancelled" tasks as well.

cancelled means cancelled - you can mark tasks as cancelled.

I just marked a task and got briefly confused as my task list view was on "incomplete tasks".

Strictly speaking, the view and menu options do the correct thing. What I think would be better would be if they were changed to something like "Outstanding Tasks" so that this could include cancelled tasks.

Current status (2013-07-04):

Sunbird development has been stopped.
Lightning 2.4b1 -- shows cancelled tasks as struck through in calendar view, the check-box "Hide completed tasks has been replaced with "Show completed tasks", that does what it says, i.e. formally OK, but the usability has a flow.
