After automatic update Thunderbird can't start, says "Update failed, one or more files could not be updated", proceeds to a "Installing updates" progressbar, and returns to the error message in a loop

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; da; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4
Build Identifier:
This has happened after the last automatic update as well as this one.
The message-box is:
Update failed (title)
One or more files could not be updated. Make sure all other programs are closed and that you have permission to edit files, and the restart Thunderbird to try again
[ OK ]
Clicking OK goes to a progress-bar box:
Updating Thunderbird [title]
Thunderbird is installing updates and will start in a moment.
[ progress ]
After a short while, it returns to the messagebox.
The only way to break the loop is the kill the process.
I can't figure out which files are being blocked.
The last time, I manually re-installed Thunderbird, and that worked.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Thunderbird
2. Wait for an automatic update to install itself
3. Click OK to restart Thunderbird so the update can complete

I guess it happened during update from 15.0.0.10 to 15.0.0.12 ?
Can you attach last-update.log from your installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\updates\last-update.log) ?
