I downloaded Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 today and now when I open it I see something similar to "----------------<menuitem" at the bottom of the screen. I can't understand any of the bug reports. I'm sorry I downloaded the new version. Is there a way for a non-expert to fix this? Thanks, Alan Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Thunderbird program 2. 3. Actual Results: "menuitem" at bottom of screen Expected Results: nothing at bottom of screen

I suppose you've updated from a previous version? Or maybe you've add some extension Run thunderbird in Safe mode (In start Menu > Thuderbird) If it is ok, try to find the extension which cause problem by disable it in Tools->Add-ons

->INVALID, feel free to reopen if you can reproduce with all extensions/themes disabled. (As explained in the previous comment.)

At least for some cases, this problem can be solved by updating the "Buttons!" extension to version 0.5.3.x . This is mentioned in the "Thunderbird Support" forum: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=556203 Worked for me. BTW, it's always a good idea to use Tools -> Add Ons -> Find Updates when updating TB version. (Same for Firefox). (With this information, is status still "INVALID"?)

Yes, extension bugs are not tracked in bugzilla. I guess the (older version of the) extension made false compatibility claims. There is nothing we could do about that...
